SMBT’s Growing Research Ecosystem: 600+ Papers Set for Publication

SMBT is emerging as a leading hub for medical and dental research, with over 600 research papers and projects nearing publication. This progress reflects the dedication of students, faculty, and the continuous support of the Central Research Department.

Recently, 80 students across five SMBT institutions were awarded prestigious research scholarships. Of these, 32 students received grants from the Department of Health Research (DHR) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), while 48 students were awarded the Short Term Research Grant (STRG) by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS).

These scholarships support projects that contribute to public health and clinical innovation. The selection is competitive and conducted at the national level.

With strong mentoring, infrastructure, and a culture built on curiosity and collaboration, SMBT continues to encourage student-led research—nurturing the next generation of healthcare thinkers and innovators in India.
