Sahyadri Bahujan Vidya Prasarak Samaaj (SBVPS) was formed in the year 1966 in Sangamner, Maharashtra to address the urgent need for quality education among the rural population. With a vision to provide quality and modern education to rural students to bring them at par with urban and semi-urban students, SBPVS started its first school in 1966.
In 1983, the Amrutvahini Sheti and Shikshan Vikas Sanstha were founded to reach out to a wider population. Amrutvahini college of Engineering, Polytechnic College, Institute of Management and Business Administration, College of Pharmacy, Industrial Training Center, and Cambridge School is providing quality education to needy ones.
In the memory of the dynamic director, Dr. Devendra Ohara, a school was setup for mentally challenged children. More than 45 students are getting educated here.The school has well-qualified special educators and co-curricular staff to ensure that students get quality special education. Special efforts are undertaken to sensitize the general public to accept and respect people with different abilities.
Sangram Gram Vikas Mandal (Sangram Sangamner) is one of the prominent organizations in Maharashtra working for the hearing impaired and mentally challenged children, irrespective of sex, race, region, castes, creed, and colour. The school aims to mainstream children with hearing impairment thought, protection of their rights, and help them to live with dignity.
