Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti

On 1st October 2020 was celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in SMBT College of Pharmacy, Dhamangaon at 11.30 am as a Regular Activity of National Service Scheme. At the beginning of the program, Dr A S Dhake, Principal and Dr M R Kumbhare paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. On this occasion Riya Patel, NSS Volunteer gave a speech on the contribution of Shastri in the development of our country, his thoughts on peace and his involvement in the freedom struggle of India. Ankita Jadhav, NSS Volunteer expressed her views on Gandhian thoughts and emphasized on safety of women in society. Dr A S Dhake, Principal addressed participants and shared his views on the contribution of Gandhiji in various fields including Politics, Social reforms, Economic upliftment, Gram Swaraj, Community Health etc. and Autobiography -The story of my experiments with truth. Eminent speaker and former office bearer of Rashtra Seva Dal Shri Vasant Ekbote, was the Guest speaker on this occasion . He said as Shastri knows troubles of economically poor society he initiated green revolution as well as the white revolution exemplified by Amul. He said today's society should understand Gandhian thought for the development of our nation and achieve all round progress. Some members of the teaching staff, non-teaching staff were present at the venue and other staff and a number of students participated in the program online through Google meet. Mr R B Rode, NSS Program officer proposed a vote of thanks. Mr. A. J. Rabade anchored this program.
