ATAL AROGYA SHIBIR
A free dental checkup camp for Sakri and Dhule citizens was organized by government of Maharashtra on 14th, 15th and 16th September 2018 at Civil Hospital, under the banner ATAL AROGYA SHIBIR. Our team of 14 members including 2 staff members, 2 PG’s and 6 interns represented our college.
On 14th and 15th September, we started the camp at 10:00 am in Civil Hospital Sakri. Our team started with a power point projection about progress of dental caries and the factors causing caries. We also educated them about the ill effects of devouring tobacco products. Brushing techniques was demonstrated on models in small groups. We started screening the patients and treated them accordingly, till 4:00pm. There were 92 patients of various dental problems. Majority of the cases seen were regarding Periodontitis and missing teeth, which were treated by oral prophylaxis and by providing removable partial dentures.
Following day on 16th September 2018, Sunday, the venue for the camp was set at Dhule, which was inaugurated by Hon. Chief Minister Mr. DEVENDRA FADNAVIS and Hon. Health Education Minister Mr. GIRISH MAHAJAN. We were accompanied by, GDC Mumbai, GDC Aurangabad and ACPM Dental College Dhule. After the inauguration ceremony commenced we started screened the patients. There were 258 patients of various dental problems. We issued them the case paper pertaining to their problems and treated them accordingly by doing extractions, scaling, fillings and by giving them removable partial dentures.
